A small black-and-white bird that often perches on wire fences or posts. The Black-and-white Monjita is one of the most threatened birds in Uruguay. It lives in natural grasslands. Its main threat is the loss of natural grasslands and changes in land management. Conserving natural grasslands is key to its survival.
