Esteros y Algarrobales del Río Uruguay

Esteros y Algarrobales del Río Uruguay is a unique biodiversity reserve area in Uruguay. It has been part of the National System of Protected Areas (SNAP) since 2015. The area covers 1,550 hectares in which four different environments coexist: Chaco parkland, sandy areas, marshlands and riparian forests, each with its own typical species. For this reason, more than 1,200 native plant and animal species are concentrated here, many of them priority species for conservation, which add to the area's richness.
