This biodiversity reserve stands out for an area of grasslands that welcomes Chestnut Seedeaters every spring.

For conservation reasons, this area is not open to the general public.

Damp grasslands that create the ideal habitat for the seasonal arrival of migratory birds such as the Chestnut Seedeater.

Every spring, populations of Sporophila cinnamomea arrive in this area to nest — a priority species for conservation.

This is where Antiphytum charruasorum was discovered, a plant species new to science, which underlines the scientific value of the area.

Each year grazing is excluded during spring and summer to allow the grasses to grow and the Chestnut Seedeaters to arrive.
