About the reserve

After almost 60 years of hosting forestry plantations (Eucalyptus, Pinus, Fraxinus), we have managed to restore the site towards a Butia yatay palm grove and natural grasslands, where there are currently almost 20,000 Yatay palms of different ages and a herbaceous cover similar to that of a re-established natural grassland. The area also serves for environmental education and for enjoying nature, with a 1.55 km interpretation trail among palms and birds.
